沉香（李铭祖 配音）从小就和父亲刘彦昌（谢添天 配音）过着相依为命的生活，因为没有母亲，沉香常常遭到学校里恶霸的欺辱。某日，刘彦昌终于将妻子的秘密告诉了沉香，原来，沉香的母亲本是天上的三圣公主（丁建华 配音），因为和凡人相恋触犯天条，被二郎神杨戬（王肖兵 配音）压在莲花峰下思过。 带着母亲留给自己的沉香宝带，沉香踏上了寻找母亲的旅途，途中遇见了善良的朝霞姑姑（黄怡晴 配音），知晓了当年杨戬利用宝莲灯陷害母亲的来龙去脉。朝霞姑姑带着沉香面见了霹雳大仙（刘钦 配音），沉香拜其为师磨练武艺，更经受住了霹雳大仙给予的重重考验，最终来到了莲花峰下。
